Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician

Fixed term contract: Two years duration

Applications are invited from suitably qualified people to join our friendly multi-disciplinary team at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust to train as a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician. You will require at least five GCSE's at Grade C or above to include Math’s, English and Science (to include Chemistry and Biology) and have either completed or are working towards, with a view to completion by March 2022, your Level 2 Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills (NVQ).

Training over the two year period is by a combination of virtual classroom teaching by Bradford College and on the job experience. Upon satisfactory completion of the training period you will be eligible to register as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council. You will be supervised and assessed throughout your training and will also be expected to commit your personal time to complete the assignments and underpinning knowledge elements of these courses.

You will need to be patient focused, have good interpersonal and communication skills, be a quick learner, be keen to get involved and be committed to the training programme. The ability to cope with the discipline of studying whilst working as part of a team throughout this busy department is essential.

This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week; however flexible working and part time hours will be considered.
