A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to support the north east Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) to deliver the Primary Care digital strategy.

Over the last year the CCGs across the North East and North Cumbria have developed a single Primary Care Digital Strategy. This new post has been created to explore the benefits of working together to deliver projects to support delivery of this strategy. The post holder will be expected to provide leadership at a regional level and add capacity to the system to further develop new ways of working and explore new initiatives.

The role will support delivery of the strategic objectives for primary care as well as the wider health and care system. Crucially the role will seek alignment with the regional Digital Care Programme and initiatives being implemented across secondary care and other parts of the system. The post holder will work as part of the network of CCG digital leads and other stakeholders to ensure engagement and agreement across the region. An experienced leader is required who be able to work in this complex environment and will be supported by a dedicated team in developing and delivering the digital programme of work.

The post holder will primarily focus on oversight of joint projects to develop new means for GP Practices to interact with patients digitally such as use of bi-directional messaging and video consultation.

The post should have knowledge of local, ICS and ICP strategies and the ability to engage stakeholders is essential. Budget management and procurement will form part of the role. The post holder will be required to work across a number of base offices across the north east with regular local, regional and national travel required.

This is a 12 month post which will be offered on a fixed term contract or secondment.
