Bolton NHS Foundation Trust was formed in 2008 and, in 2011, we became an integrated provider with community health services joining the trust. Covering a catchment area that also incorporates parts of Bury, Wigan and Salford, we deliver hospital and community based services from the Royal Bolton Hospital in Farnworth and from 20 health centres across Bolton, to a catchment population of 320,000 people. We have a CQC rating as good overall and we have some key areas of outstanding practice with an outstanding rating for being well led at every level.

Bolton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Deputy Chief Informatics Officer to join our busy and friendly Informatics Functions.

Do you have a passion for Information Technology and project management, are you looking for a high profile and wide reaching role? If so, this unique and exciting opportunity to join Bolton NHS Foundation Trust as Deputy Chief Informatics Officer is for you, and we would love to hear from you.

A flexible, reliable, self-motivated and highly knowledgeable individual is required to fill this exciting opportunity. You will be asked lead as the Programme Director for our Electronic Patient Record function and deliver on the following;

  • To be accountable to the CIO and responsible for the development and implementation the Trust Informatics strategy.
  • Support the CIO and CTO in creating a transformative, IT and digital strategy, and the associated roadmap, to deliver the aims of the trusts new strategy.
  • Deliver enhanced IT performance, an excellent customer experience, and enable evidence-based decision-making via a portfolio of prioritised IT and digital change programmes
  • Operate as a senior leader across the locality to build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, cement trust, articulate the 'art of the possible' and stimulate demand for innovative IT and digital solutions.
  • Provide strong leadership to the IT team, drive clarity of responsibility and process, supporting IT team culture which puts the user at the heart of what it does, is easy to engage with, and earns a reputation for reliable, outstanding delivery.
  • To support the delivery of informatics services and deputise for the CIO to efficiently and effectively produce, insights and information to support and inform the decision making ability of the executive, clinicians, managers and staff at all levels of the organisation and locality.
  • To make a positive contribution to the development and delivery of the wider Trust agenda, including the strategic vision of the Trust and the national and regional informatics programme.
