We are seeking qualified Therapy Radiographers to join our team based in the Radiotherapy Department at St James’s Institute of Oncology. To help us do this we need to recruit highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic staff who are willing to work flexibly to ensure that the service we provide is correctly staffed at all times (Department currently works compressed hours).You will also be required to participate in the Departments on-call rota.

 

You will be part of a large, friendly and supportive team providing the best care for patients whilst shaping the future of our service.

The radiotherapy department in Leeds forms part of one of the largest cancer networks in the UK, offering an efficiently run radiotherapy service to the Yorkshire population.

 

At the Oncology Wing based at St James University Hospital, our equipment includes: 12 Elekta Linacs all with cone beam imaging capability and Elekta Agility MLC Heads, and three have a hexapod couch. We also have a Gammaknife Stereotactic Radiosurgery unit, HDR Brachytherapy unit, 3 Philips CT Simulators and are currently installing an MRSim. We employ a wide range of techniques including IGRT, IMRT, VMAT, SABR, TSET,TBI and paediatric radiotherapy.

If you are offered a position, you may be required to undertake a DBS. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment. DBS checks for volunteers are free.
