The ADHD Service provides diagnosis and support to adults with ADHD in Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, BANES, Swindon and Wiltshire. The team was established in 2009 and consists of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Speciality Doctor, Specialist Practitioners, Non-Medical Prescribers, a Clinical Psychologist and a Social Worker.We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the service. The role is split between providing specific Occupational Therapy input and contributing to the diagnostic process for ADHD, which requires strong assessment and team working skills. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a developing team.The post-holder will be responsible for providing Occupational Therapy assessments and addressing occupational performance in the areas of self care, productivity and leisure, by identifying occupationally focused goals with service users. The role also involves facilitating skills based groups and support groups with other members of the team. Experience of working with people with sensory processing differences is desirable but not essential.Applicants would be expected to be able to demonstrate an interest in this client group and ideally will have experience of working with people with ADHD, but this is not essential as full training will be provided. The team is clinic based and works office hours from Monday to Friday. We are based at Petherton Resource Centre in South Bristol and the successful candidate would be expected to work from bases in Wiltshire at times.Adult ADHD is becoming more widely recognised and we are fortunate to be at the forefront of understanding the condition, with a multidisciplinary and holistic approach. We design our own care protocols in line with academic and national standards.
