Location: IT Department, QA Hospital or Rodney Road.

This is an excellent opportunity to lead and manage an innovative team of software developers, supporting them in building industry leading, robust and innovative software solutions that are fit for purpose.

The Role:

You will be responsible for a scrum team who develop web and Integration solutions that enable information sharing between clinical and corporate systems.Your work will directly impact day to day patient care. The team currently uses Visual Studio 2017, Inter systems Integration engine, SQL Server 2012, ASP.NET MVC 5 and looking to migrate to ASP.NET Core 2 and working towards continuous delivery.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Design, develop, and deliver new features on our in-house solutions

  • Lead a cross-functional and multidisciplinary scrum team

  • Work with leading edge technologies and process

  • Lead and deliver a strategy to deliver high end solutions in the area of Integration, web, mobile and wearable.

NHS Band 8b salaries will be considered depending on candidates’ experience.

Ideal candidate:

  • Experienced team leader and manager.

  • Fluent in English and C#

  • Industry level experience in Inter systems Integration

  • Experience in developing mobile applications

  • Experience developing web applications using ASP.NET MVC, WebApi , JavaScript and Angular

  • Experience with LINQ & Entity Framework, SQL Server and T-SQL

  • Enjoy learning new skills and finding the best tools for the job

  • Knowledge and application of enterprise software design patterns

  • Practical knowledge of OOP concepts and SOLID principles

  • Understand HTTP and RESTful design

  • Hands-on experience with SQL

  • Experience with Unit and Integration testing

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment work flows

  • Ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams

  • Proven history of successful software development

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Experience in Automated testing

The Department:


The IT department has 80+ staff with abroad range of skills and experiences. We pride ourselves on our culture of ‘working together’ for the benefit of patients. We are located less than a mile from Fratton train station, in a recently refurbished building with great facilities and free parking. The adjacent retail park includes a number of fast food restaurants, a supermarket and several gyms.
