We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our busy medicines distribution team in the modern pharmacy department at Dorset County Hospital.

Under the supervision of the Senior Pharmacy Assistant you will be directly involved in the receipt and distribution of pharmaceuticals to all wards and departments within the hospital and other external units.

This role provides vital support in delivering medicines safely and efficiently to clinical and non-clinical areas across the Dorset County Hospital site. The post holder will have demonstrable skills in team work and customer care. In addition the post holder will have excellent communication skills and be able to work flexibly under pressure.

You will have received a good standard of general education and have attained a GCSE grade C or above in Mathematics and English (or equivalent). Computer literacy is required although appropriate training will be given. Specified Units of NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services are required and appropriate training will be given.

Your hours will be 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. You will be expected to participate in a 1 in 8 Weekend Rota (Saturday and Sunday) and a Bank Holiday Rota. You will also be expected to participate in a late rota one night per week 9.30am to 6.00pm on that day.

DBS - If you join us and need a new DBS check, we will recover the costs through a salary deduction (£40 - enhanced check or £23 - standard)
