Oxfordshire Community Dental Service provides countywide special care and paediatric dentistry to the local population, operating from multiple sites and delivering care via a wide range of treatment modalities including sedation and general anaesthesia.

The post holder will demonstrate clinical leadership in the care of children, especially those with special care, within the Oxfordshire Community Dental Service in conjunction with the Clinical Director. This will include children with learning difficulties, physical disabilities, mental health problems, medically compromised, severe anxiety or phobias.

The post holder will provide oral health care for children seen in the Oxfordshire Community Dental Service. This will include sedation and general anaesthesia, domiciliary care, provision of oral health care to those in local secure settings, screening and epidemiology and oral health promotion.

The post holder will assist the Clinical Director as required in the day to day operational activities of the Community Dental Service. They will be expected to take the lead on delivery of care, training and supervision in their specialist area travelling to sites as required. They may also assist in the planning and Clinical Leadership of Oxfordshire Community Dental Service.
