This is an exciting time for our staff, following a recent review of healthcare services in Dorset which will see major changes to the way healthcare is provided in our region. As one of the two acute NHS providers in the east of the county, our services will be closely linked to those provided at the Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We’re working in close collaboration to deliver excellent emergency and planned care over the two sites, for the people of east Dorset.

It is anticipated that the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will merge in the summer of 2020 to form East Dorset Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It is a condition of employment that all staff being recruited in the period before merger will work across all sites pre and post-merger.


Forest Holme: Specialist Palliative Care Ward.

Healthcare Assistant Band 2

Forest Holme is looking for a motivated individual to join our friendly and caring team of nursing staff. We are able to recruit a 30 hour a week, 12 month, fixed contract, Band 2 Healthcare Assistant. The post includes working long days (07.30-20.00), weekend and night shifts.

Forest Holme is a 12 bedded, Specialist Palliative Care Ward which provides individualised, holistic patient care to patients with complex,cancer/non cancer diseases, supporting their loved ones.

Applications are invited from individuals who can demonstrate a professional attitude to work, a high standard of communication skills, a caring and compassionate approach and a commitment to team working.

Informal visits are welcomed and encouraged.

Please note: if this job requires you to have a DBS check to enable you to properly fulfil the requirements of the job, on appointment you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check and this amount will be reclaimed from your salary.
