The Clinical Science and Engineering department at Salisbury District Hospital has been established in the provision of special seating and rehabilitation services for over 25 years. The main focus of Medical Engineering is the provision of specialist seating for patients with complex physical disabilities and providing bespoke services to the acute medical services in the hospital. Predominantly the service operates from the purpose built Medical Engineering facility but the department also has a specially equipped vehicle to attend satellite clinics and visit clients in their homes, schools and day centres etc.

We are seeking applications from a motivated individual to join the Clinical Science & Engineering team, as an Engineering Technician. The primary role is to provide practical mechanical engineering manufacture to support the multidisciplinary special seating and rehabilitation engineering teams, using the mechanical workshop facilities to manufacture bespoke seating and rehabilitation aids.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, has a professional attitude with good communication and teamwork skills, and will have a sympathetic approach to our patients and service users.

GETTING TO WORK

We offer parking on site at Salisbury District Hospital, a daily charge applies. We encourage our staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible, and our Trust is well connected through the bus services to the city centre and other areas.

If this job requires you to have DBS check to enable you to properly fulfil the requirements of the job, on appointment, you will be required to replay the cost of obtaining a DBS check and this amount will be reclaimed in installments from your salary. Many staff use the DBS update service at a cost of £13 per annum but you need to sign up for this via their website.
