Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust was formed in October 2019, following the merger of 2gether NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust. The two Trusts joined together to provide integrated mental health, physical health and learning disability services to communities.


Job Title – Medical Secretary- Band 4

Base – Stroud

Salary – £21,089-£23,761 pro rata per annum

Hours per week –up to 37.5 Hours/Week - job share/part time hours considered

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Locality Admin Team as an experienced Medical Secretary to provide a high level of professional administrative support to assist with the smooth running of the service. We are looking for an experienced candidate who has previously worked as a medical secretary or in a senior secretarial role. Candidates should have experience in the medical field and knowledge of medical terminology preferably, excellent accurate digital/audio typing and minute taking skills and a sound knowledge of the English vocabulary, grammar and punctuation will be essential. Good communication, organisational and diary management skills will also be vital and have the ability to deal with telephone calls efficiently and sensitively. You will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to cope with a demanding workload and ever-changing priorities. Excellent communication is required between work colleague, as this post is a job share post and requires the successful candidate to work flexibly, as and when required, to cover work colleague in times of absence and leave, in the job share post.

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory training and post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.
