CBT Therapists - Nottingham

Trent PTS is seeking therapists with demonstrable clinical expertise across CBT, IPT, Brief dynamic and counselling, couples and specialist topics. Particularly in our developing pathways; PTSD, dealing with sexual assault, probation populations, peri-natal, self-harm, eating disorders and long-term conditions.  They will work in small teams located in a dedicated building with outreach into GP and other community agencies. We are engaged in a programme of digital collaborations and developments. This includes the role of IECBT as part of blended interventions, use of telephone and video consultation at step 3 and the role of motivation interventions within support apps.  Teams are managed by experienced senior clinicians who work collaboratively with and develop each therapist to their best. Our services provide for rural and city populations and we meet the needs of some of the most challenged communities. We are achieving all IAPT standards and targets and importantly we have no internal waits and most clients start treatment with the therapists who assess them, with their 2nd appointment within 2 weeks. We provide flexible working opportunities and have an internal continuing practice development programme where each therapist can access up to 5 days of training. Regular clinical supervision is provided to all therapists.  We are currently supporting 15 of our counsellors to complete CfD training, and we have supported staff to complete IPT and brief dynamic training. We also have 10 staff across step 2 and 3 completing LTC training and we already have in excess of 20 plus staff trained in LTC with Professor Karina Lovell. Staff engagement and continuous quality improvement is at the heart of our strategic plans

Trent is expanding both its Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire services in order to meet commissioning access targets and NHS strategic long term plan goals. We have expansion plans in place across all our teams. There are a number of locations that can be available but Bramcote, Bingham, Matlock, Ilkeston (and Long Eaton) have new facilities and if you choose these places you would be joining new teams building a local presence with GPs and communities. We want to appoint therapists with exceptional relationship skills, see themselves as having continuous potential to develop, have ideas to share and collaboration skills.

If you are interested and would like an informal chat in the first instance, contact Dean Repper, Clinical Director, on This role will also be advertised on NHS Jobs, our website and on our Trent PTS LinkedIn Page.
