Consultant in Senior Health - 1 Year Fixed Term, Maternity Cover.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Consultant to join our team and further evolve our geriatrics service. This is a 1 year fixed term Maternity Cover and will facilitate expansion of the service to cover all older patients admitted acutely to medicine and providing liaison working within the community.

Geriatric Medicine services at St George’s have undergone a major reconfiguration. There has already been significant investment in order to create a comprehensive service for older people. This has included opening a dedicated acute senior health unit, the development of an in-reach and liaison service within both medicine and surgery.

The applicant must have MRCP or equivalent, valid ALS certification or equivalent, and demonstrate a suitable background and experience in managing patients in Geriatric Medicine and/or Acute Medicine, evidenced by CCT in G(I)M and/or Acute Medicine and Geriatric Medicine (or within six months of CCT).

 

The current job plan is 10 PAs within Geriatric Medicine in the Department of Senior Health. The post is fulltime, but we welcome applications from those wishing to work part time and/or job share.
