South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust has an opportunity within the Planning, Performance and Forecasting Team for a Planning Assistant.

The Requirement:

  • The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, organised individual with experience in a busy customer service environment.

  • High level of communication and keyboards skills, especially in MS Office and a basic knowledge of workforce manager software.

  • Applicant will require experience of managing their own workloads, responding to tight deadlines, the ability to work under pressure and keeping organized when multiple activities are required.

  • Flexibility is essential as the hours for this role will include working early mornings, weekends and bank holiday shifts, as required on an internal rotation basis to meet the needs of the service.

The Role:

  • Supporting accurate planning and meeting challenges of delivering emergency and other healthcare services for the trust.

  • Responsible for efficient resource planning to ensure the service has the right levels of cover, both internal and external, with the right skills in the right place to meet patient demand and deliver key Performance indicators (KPIs) at all times.

  • Required to respond to staff request using a variety of media, deal with complex issues.

  • Liaise with Third Part suppliers and ensure workforce planning meets the Trust’s targets for service delivery.
