This post is ideal for someone looking to move into a hospital Pharmacy role. Our friendly and progressive Pharmacy department is currently looking for a registered Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic and forward thinking Dispensary team. If you are newly qualified or never practiced in hospital pharmacy, we will provide you with the tools to build on your previously gained skills in order to develop you into a confident and knowledgeable hospital Pharmacy Technician.

 

Medicines optimisation is at the heart of our services. We strive to deliver the best possible patient experience and care in order for patients to achieve the best possible outcomes from their medicines, and so your new role will involve dispensing and final accuracy checking. It will also involve working alongside the dispensary team leader and dispensary manager in the day to day running of the dispensary within the inpatient pharmacy in order to ensure the safe delivery of medication to Trust patients on a day to day basis for both discharge and inpatient use and prioritising the dispensary workload effectively. You will also play an active role in inspiring, supporting and supervising junior staff within their training.

 

You will be trained to take an active role in team leading and supervising staff supported by the dispensary manager in the absence of the dispensary supervisor and assisting in managing the dispensary work load to ensure that turnaround times are met and medicines are supplied in a timely manner.

 

We need you to be organised and motivated with the ability to think on your feet. You will also need to have great communication & interpersonal skills. We’ll ensure that your new role is stimulating, exciting and rewarding and give you the opportunity to really make your mark within hospital pharmacy.

 

Applicants from current 2nd year Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians would also be welcomed.

All new starters with the Trust will be subject to a six month probationary period, with the exception of medical and dental candidates.

Current employees should be aware that this position is advertised as a GWH position and appointment ends any TUPE protection.

All candidates are required to pay for their own DBS check where applicable. Standard DBS check costs £26 and will be recovered from your first pay; Enhanced DBS check costs £44 and will be split and recovered over the first 2 pay.

Bank posts requiring a DBS check; payment must be made prior to commencing.

Apprentices are exempt from payment.
