This post is for a 12months fixed term contract only to cover maternity leave.

The Medical Devices Training Co-ordinator will inform the Medical Devices Training Lead on a multi-disciplinary approach to medical device training. They will have responsibility to facilitate the training of all staff in the safe and competent use of equipment, ensuring that the Trust complies with national standards.

The post holder will ensure a strategic and coordinated approach that will recognise and minimise the associated risks in relation to the use of devices during patient care.

The post holder will be required to formulate, implement and evaluate a multi disciplinary competence based education programme with a full range of supporting training materials. They will have knowledge in evaluating training needs, directly deliver training and assess staff using devices across the organisation. They will ensure that evidence of staff training is documented and recorded centrally, providing reports as required.

The post holder will collaborate with existing Trust trainers, assessors and company suppliers of devices to the Trust to provide training and information ensuring a coordinated and flexible approach to training provision across the organisation.
