The Haematology Day Case and Outpatient department requires an enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join the friendly and committed team in this nationally recognised centre of excellence for Haematology and Haemopoietic stem cell transplantation.

The department is fast paced and provides a range of treatment for variety of patients with malignant and non-malignant haematological diseases from a vast geographical area. The day case unit and outpatient department is open Monday to Friday 8am until 8pm and Saturdays 8-4.

This post will be rotational throughout the unit including outpatients, day case and Apheresis Unit providing an exciting opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and competence in both areas incorporating leadership, service development and clinical aspects with managerial support and supervision.

Haematology Day case will provide an excellent opportunity to develop cannulation skills, central line care, various intravenous drug and chemotherapy administration, knowledge and competence through working in new ways packages and clinical supervision and support from senior nurses.

There are opportunities to develop further skills in our apheresis unit where you will be trained to carry out apheresis procedures including stem cell harvests, red blood cell exchanges and ECP treatments.

The successful applicant will already be an existing employee of NUH NHS Trust and must be able to demonstrate excellent values and behaviours and a desire to provide high quality nursing care actively demonstrating the 6 C’s. Acute clinical experience and evidence of post registration development are desirable and would be advantageous for this role.

I understand this is an automated process and the information will only be used for these purposes prior to me taking up the position at NUH.
    • Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incurs a cost dependent on the level of check required (£45 for enhanced and £28 for standard). I agree to reimburse NUH NHS Trust the cost of a DBS check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay). Should I decide to withdraw from my job offer, I agree to reimburse NUH NHS Trust the cost of the DBS check undertaken by cheque or other agreed method.
