Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust Safeguarding Children Team in Brighton & Hove are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Specialist Nurse Safeguarding Children to work within our team.

The position is for 22.5 hours per week & you will need to be able to commit to working on Thursdays plus two other days preferably one being Wednesday or Tuesday.

The post holder will be part of the Safeguarding Children Team Brighton and Hove and work with the Named Professionals Safeguarding Children in delivering training, staff support and domestic abuse MARAC arrangements for children and their families. You will also be required to support our Specialist Nurse work within children’s services Front Door for Families, Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub where all referrals for safeguarding children are screened and decisions made on levels of risk.

The team has a proactive approach towards the safeguarding of children and priority is given to developing confidence and competence in safeguarding for all groups of staff working with children and/or their families.

This post offers an excellent career development opportunity for a nurse with a health visitor or school nurse qualification (or equivalent), who has substantial post registration experience, knowledge, interest and experience in safeguarding children practice. It is a demanding and interesting post and we are looking for someone who is committed to safeguarding children, enjoys multi-agency working, delivering training, is flexible and ensures a forward thinking approach to practice development and enabling the delivery of safe and high quality care.
