This is your chance to be part of an amazing, dynamic Orthopaedic Trauma Team where patient care is at the centre of everything we do.

The Orthopaedic Trauma Unit at the Royal Cornwall Hospital is recruiting now and we are looking for positive, highly motivated individuals to join our team.

The Trauma Unit is a 56 bedded ward providing high quality care to inpatients with orthopaedic trauma injuries. These range from simple hand injuries to major, multiple limb trauma. The nursing staff are supported by a fantastic multi-disciplinary team which includes the Medical Trauma Team, the Orthogeriatrician Team, dedicated ward-based therapists and the Trauma C-o-rdination Team, all of whom strive to ensure positive patient outcomes.

If you are looking for professional and personal development then we will support you to achieve this. There is a clear development structure in place, which includes senior ward level nursing as well as clinical nurse specialists within the orthopaedic trauma speciality. We also offer simulation training at the point of care, enabling staff to practice and develop acute clinical skills whilst learning about the values of good teamwork. Support is offered to attend training courses and to participate in quality improvement projects.

It is not essential to have worked within surgery or trauma to apply for this position as we would welcome all registered nurses who are committed to going the extra mile for patients. We work together to create a positive team spirit, rewarding achievements and celebrating successes as we recognise that happy staff equals happy patients.

Cornwall is an area of outstanding natural beauty and the stunning coastline is at your fingertips, which actively promotes a healthy work/life balance….COME AND JOIN US.

We are very happy to talk informally during your application and would also be happy to provide a tour of the Orthopaedic Trauma unit.

There are full and part time opportunities available working various shift patterns including weekends, nights and bank holidays. Relocation costs will be considered for the right candidate.

Flexible working hours also considered.
