Locum Appointed for Service (LAS) Core Trainee Years 1-3 - East Sussex

Post Starts: 1 April 2020.

We have exciting opportunities for Locum Appointed for Service (LAS) doctors looking to work at Core Trainee (years 1-3) level in Psychiatry. These posts are based in Eastbourne and Hastings which offers:

  • Journeys from coast to the countryside in minutes
  • A lifestyle where there are renowned cycle routes and picturesque walks, including the famous South Downs Way in the South Downs National Park
  • City life that is never far away as Brighton and Hove or London which are both within easy reach via local and national bus routes and national mainline stations
  • Easy access to airports - Gatwick and Heathrow are both within 90 minutes of the county, providing links to Europe and beyond

The posts offer you a rewarding opportunity to gain relevant psychiatry experience at 'doctor in training' core trainee level, which includes working on a full shift rota. Although the posts are not recognised towards the 'Certificate of Completion of Training', you will be encouraged to participate in educational programmes, as well as supported to access and undertake audit and research.

You will work alongside a friendly, professional multidisciplinary team including senior consultant psychiatrist, consultant psychotherapist, occupational therapist, social worker, CBT specialists and more. You will receive weekly supervision and have exposure to the full range of acute and long term psychiatric diagnoses.

To be successful in the post you will need to have a Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) or equivalent, registered with a license to practice with the General Medical Council (GMC) and completed Foundation Years 1 & 2 (or equivalent).
