An opportunity has arisen within the District Nursing Service at First Community for a 30 hour band 2 Phlebotomist. 

The successful candidate will provide phlebotomy to patients in the community setting under the direction of a qualified nurse. You will need work independently within a team structure, and will possess excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic, and demonstrate a flexible approach to work.

The role requires the post holder to be able to communicate clearly with excellent written and verbal communication skills.  The post holder will need to be able to prioritise their day and be familiar with all routine blood tests and understand their clinical importance.

 Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to drive, have a car suitable for business purposes, and hold a clean driving licence.




Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship (formerly a Work Permit)

Recruitment and Retention Premium

Recruitment and Retention Premium applies to the following posts:

Health Visitors, Paediatric Therapists, Ward based Occupational Therapists, Podiatrists, Audiologists, Continence Nurses, Identified areas for Band 5 & 6 Staff Nurses and District Nurses.

Successful applicants within the staff groups above will receive -

  • £1000 upon commencement (payable in your first months’ salary) then;

  • £1000 after 6 months service subject to satisfactory completion of your probationary period.
