Deputy Ward Manager

We are seeking a compassionate and psychologically minded Deputy Ward Manager to join The Haldon Eating Disorders Service

The successful candidate will uphold their professional standards and act as a positive role model to the team, and the wider eating disorder pathway. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to lead and positively influence the team by promoting reflection and identifying the needs of others.

To be a Deputy Ward Manager means that you will have a sound working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and relevant legislation to support and safeguard those in our care. As part of this role you will be expected to enable an environment where junior staff can learn and develop by coaching the team. The Deputy Ward Manager will be expected to deputise for the Ward Manager, this includes carrying out audits and leading on innovative Quality Improvement projects to enhance the care delivery.

The Haldon Eating Disorder Service is commissioned by NHS England to provide 12 inpatient beds for those with eating disorders from 17yrs old up. The service also provides a service for up to 8 day patients, and is developing a close working relationship with the recently commissioned Community Eating Disorder Service.

We will provide on-going supervision & practice development which will be integral to developing or maintaining skills/knowledge base to work with those with eating disorders.

As a new member of staff to Devon Partnership NHS Trust you will be required to attend a full induction programme at the beginning of your employment. The content and length of this programme will depend on your new job role and where you will be working. This can be between one day for non-clinical staff and up to 10 days for inpatient clinical staff.
