An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 4 Civilian Dental Nurse to work at Aldershot, Hants.

A Recruitment and Retention Allowance of £1500 pro-rata will be offered to the successful candidate.

Our successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated Dental Nurse who will work within the Ministry of Defence to provide clinical and administrative support for the provision of dental care.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Organising specialist clinics, where required, including coordinating diaries and booking the clinic.
  • Deputising in the absence of the Practice Manger.
  • Ensuring their surgeries are prepared appropriately, complying with current regulations.
  • Responsibility for ordering consumables for the Dental Centre
  • Contributing to Healthcare Governance Assurance Self-Assessment (eCAF)
  • Performing additional duties in line with your Band 4 status and additional dental qualifications. This can include provision of intra- and extra-oral radiography, IPC lead role, OHE role and any other roles attributed to your additional dental qualification.
  • Occasionally the individual may be asked to work at other neighbouring dental centres if tasked by the Principal DentalOfficer (PDO).

Qualifications and Memberships

The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence of the following Qualifications and Memberships.

  • National Examining Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN) Certificate or NVQ in Oral Health Care Dental Nursing Level 3.
  • Must be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) plus must have one of the following 5 post registration qualifications: Oral Health Education Certificate; Dental Radiography Certificate; Orthodontic Dental Nursing certificate; Dental Nursing Sedation certificate; Special Care Dental Nursing certificate.

Please be aware that if you are found successful you will be asked to provide evidence of your immunity to Hepatitis B.
