Would you like to work with an experienced, proactive and supportive team in an environment where the individualised care you give makes all the difference?

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Registered Nurse to join their friendly team on Harlands Medical Ward at Uckfield Community Hospital.

We are a 14-bed Intermediate Care Unit providing high quality care for patients with a variety of medical needs including semi-acute admissions, rehabilitation, palliative and terminal care. We care for patients both 'stepping down' from secondary and tertiary care and 'stepping up' from home to prevent admission to secondary care. We aim to provide a service that supports patients to maximise their ability to live independently and return home when it is safe for them to do so. Our staff are skilled in providing palliative and end of life care and have close links with St. Wilfrid’s Hospice.

As a Staff Nurse on the ward you will play an important part in the patients' recovery. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to use and develop key skills, providing holistic assessment and patient care. You will be responsible for contributing to care, observing, monitoring and recording patients’ progress whilst communicating and managing effectively any changes in their condition and planning their safe discharge. Liaising with external partners and patients' families is a very important part of the role.

You will need to demonstrate sound, up to date clinical skills, be reliable, and maintain a flexible approach with a proactive leadership style. In return, we can offer professional support and the opportunity for you to develop skills and competencies. Our team structures also provide the opportunity for career development. Newly qualified RNs are invited to apply.

Uckfield Hospital has free on-site parking facilities which can be used by staff.

The post holder will be required to work flexibly on both day and night shifts. Full time, part time and flexible working patterns will all be considered.
