The successful candidate will be employed by the GP Practice/Medical Centre, not Aneurin Bevan University Health Board

We are looking for a salaried GP with view to partnership.

We are a friendly practice based in Pontypool, South Wales.  The current medical team consists of 5 partners (4WTE) covering 7200 patients with a main surgery in Pontypool and a smaller branch surgery in Croesyceiliog, Cwmbran.  We aim to offer high quality clinical care to our patients while achieving a good work/life balance.

We offer a range of services to our patients including chronic disease management clinics and enhanced services covering care homes, minor surgery, intrauterine contraception and contraceptive implants.

Alongside our 5 partners we also have a team of 3 experienced practice nurses and 1 HCA as well as good administrative support.  We also have a counsellor, midwives, health visitors and LHB pharmacists who regularly attend surgery.

We are ideally looking for a salaried GP or partner for 4 sessions per week covering at least 3 mornings and 1 afternoon on call per week.  This could be flexible in the future with the possibility of more sessions if desired.

Initially as a salaried GP we will offer the model BMA contract for salaried GP’s.

Subject to a satisfactory probationary period a partnership may then be offered to the right candidate.

Requests for an informal chat and visit with the team are welcome.

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board reserves the right to close this vacancy early on behalf of the Practice, after 24 hours if a large number of suitable applications are received. Therefore, we encourage early applications to ensure consideration for this post.
