Southern Health is one of the largest Foundation Trusts in the UK, specialising in mental health, adult and child community health and learning disabilities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior psychology role within Southern Health NHS trust. We are seeking candidates with a commitment to working with people with severe and enduring mental health needs, to provide specialised psychological input across the Southampton division.

The post-holder will be responsible for managing a large and well-established Psychological Therapies team and for overseeing the governance of psychological practice across the area. They will lead the Psychological Therapies team and ensure the provision of high quality, effective psychological services to the people of Southampton. The department offers a range of psychological interventions to clients across a variety of specialisms with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and research.

It is anticipated that the post-holder will already have experience of working as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and as a team/service manager for people with acute and severe mental health problems. The post-holder will also represent psychology at a divisional level and at specific trust meetings. They will need to be a flexible team player with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills within a multi-disciplinary setting.

We have good supervision structures and an excellent track record of research and CPD within the department, as well as strong links with Southampton University. The successful candidate will be line managed by the Clinical Director within the division and professionally manged by the Trust Director for Psychological Therapies.
