South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb) has a vision to ‘support our staff to provide a caring, high quality and efficient urgent and emergency care service to our communities’.

Our 3,500 staff provide services to 4.7m people across Kent, Surrey, Sussex and North East Hampshire. We handle over 1 million calls to 999 and 1 million calls to NHS 111 every year.

The Programme Assurance Manager is a senior role responsible for facilitating the successful delivery of critical projects within the PMO Delivery Plan, through the provision of expert project management guidance, support and assurance to Executive decision makers and senior stakeholders

Reporting to the Head of PMO, you will help lead the ongoing development of the Delivery Plan in order to enhance execution of best practice project management standards across the Trust, reducing risk and improving confidence in the overall design and delivery of the projects and major change initiatives.

The Programme Assurance Manager will have responsibility for several complex workstreams/projects, and will be expected to lead the day to day management of these, working closely with Leads in a matrix structure to achieve each workstream’s aim. A number of these projects are highly complex, involving large scale redesign.

Successful candidates will be able to act on their own initiative, demonstrate sound judgement, and have strong programme management skills. Having the ability to manage complex relationships at a senior level and influencing key stakeholders will be required in order to deliver successful outcomes. The post holder should have a demonstrable track record of leading or playing a significant role in supporting the delivery of complex change projects or programmes, and ideally will have an operational background in health, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. This role in particular will also involve deputising for the Head of PMO at key meetings where required with the ability to work autonomously using own initiative to make informed judgements and decisions.

Interview Date - Thursday 27th February 2020
