Consultant/Locum Consultant in Radiology

Are you looking for a job in a progressive, staff friendly department where you can develop your specialist interests while working flexibly?

In the Yeovil Hospital Radiology department, making job-planning work for consultants is our priority and we are now looking to recruit two additional posts to take our consultant numbers to 12. Once successful in this recruitment we plan to add to our current job flexibility even further with a no on call rota using outsourcing both overnight from 8pm and all day weekends and bank holidays. This will be in addition to flexible working with the potential for a 4-day working week (10PA), home workstations and generous insourcing income options (dependent on demand). Equitable private work is also available on commencement.

We encourage development of subspecialty interests and can incorporate most within our current team. We enjoy close links with Bristol University from where we have a radiology trainee.

YDH radiology is a cohesive department with staff from around the world and we would be happy to incorporate traditional full time working patterns but also part time applicants. We welcome applicants at any point in their consultant career.

All modalities are available on site apart from PET scanning and the department recently entered into an MES with Althea to ensure a robust capital replacement programme for all equipment is in place for the next 10 years. There are 2 CT scanners on site and 1 MRI, with additional MRI capacity provided by InHealth mobile MRI.

Applicants must have MBBS and FRCR qualifications or equivalent and be fully registered with the GMC and hold a license to practice. Applicants must have entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within six months of the interview date), CESR or European Community Rights. Interested candidates with a proposed CCT date beyond six months are still advised to apply for the post as further appointments are envisaged in the near future.
