We are seeking a number of enthusiastic GPs to work with us in the portfolio role. This job gives GPs variety and flexibility of work across in hours and out of hours primary care. It also gives the opportunity to work across other services with speciality session in Emergency Department and Medical Assessment Unit with clinical support. The job plans and sessions would be tailored to each GP.


Aneurin Bevan Health board is facing changes in light of clinical futures and there will be more integrated working with urgent care in emergency departments and medical assessment unit. This job gives the opportunity for those GPs for an interest in these areas to develop skills with ongoing clinical support.


Alongside clinical sessions in general practice, acute, and urgent care settings, each portfolio role provides protected learning time to enable you to complete relevant qualifications and to continue your personal and professional development. The job plans would also include an innovation and improvement non clinical session where the GP would have the opportunity to take a lead role in an area of interest and undertake audit/project work.


The scheme provides GPs at any stage in their career with a chance to expand their portfolio with the added benefit of one single employer – Aneurin Bevan University Health board. The salary is competitive and includes enhancements for working outside of normal working hours. There are also additional benefits of NHS employment service include paid CPD time per week.
