The Commissioning Support Unit is a vibrant, dynamic and innovative service sector, which provides customer-focused support and choice to clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) and helps them to go the extra mile, by supporting the local focus on improving outcomes and increasing value on behalf of their population.

Commissioning support must enable CCGs to harness techniques, thinking and ways of working from other sectors in order to allow them to deliver best value, timely and evidence based commissioning decisions. In this respect, commissioning support will feel different to current approaches. It will support working differently and will enable those taking commissioning decisions to do so with accuracy and acuity by operating against best practice.

Exciting opportunities have arisen within IT at MLCSU, and we are looking for 2nd Line Field Engineer to join the IT Team on a fixed term contract for 12 months (Internal applicants - a 12months secondment opportunity)

The role primarily is to assist on a number of high-profile IT projects such as Windows 10 rollout and HSCN migration programmes for both internal and external clients alongside supporting existing services and technologies.

The ideal candidates will have In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating systems (7, 10 ) and MS Office Suite. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with excellent communication skills, hand’s on experience in desktop technologies and refresh programmes.

The successful candidates should have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a very dynamic environment coupled with commitment to provide an efficient and effective service.

The post is based in Shropshire including Telford & Wrekin with a requirement to travel across both CSU and Clients where required, Driver with own vehicle is essential.

As a successful applicant you will have operational experience of working in an ITIL based IT operations environment, essentially within an IT infrastructure setting.

You must have a methodical, yet flexible approach to your work and be able to exercise responsible judgment alongside being well organised and highly motivated.

You will need to have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a very dynamic environment coupled with commitment to provide an efficient and effective service is essential.

Knowledge of working within the NHS and its systems would be beneficial but not essential.
