If the answer is yes, then we have a vacancy for a Band 6 Physiotherapist at Normandy Barracks, Leconfield, HU17 7LX.

The successful candidate will ensure the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel, including the undertaking of highly skilled and specialist work in the musculo-skeletal/sports and training injury area.

The post holder will also provide a positive caring environment, in which patients can expect a high-quality professional service.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries.
  • Formulating, developing and delivering a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon evidence based practice and appropriate clinical reasoning.
  • Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for treatment, good understanding of their conditions and to maximise their rehabilitation potential.
  • Managing and prioritising own clinical caseload efficiently and effectively and work without direct clinical supervision.
  • Supporting and attending weekly staff meetings and monthly Healthcare Governance Meetings where audit, service and policy development, and presentations are conducted within the multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Using evidence based practice, audit, outcome measures and published research to inform, measure and evaluate your own work and current practice.

The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence of the following:

  • Degree in Physiotherapy plus additional specialist training or experience to post graduate diploma level or equivalent
  • State Registered Physiotherapist (HCPC)
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (MCSP)

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal disorders (MSK) and Orthopaedic conditions
  • Experience in a broad range of physiotherapy services e.g NHS rotations
  • Completion of appropriate musculoskeletal courses

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

All employees joining Ministry of Defence who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a 6-month probation period (unless otherwise advised) effective from the employment start date.
