SPECIALIST BIOMEDICAL SCIENTIST with ‘PATHOLOGY FIRST’

Salary: £30,401 to £37,267
Fixed Term - 12 months

Wouldyou like to join our dedicated, hardworking team of Biomedical Scientists at Pathology First?

We have an excellent opportunity for a Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Histopathology to join our remarkable and dynamic team. This role is part of a team which provides an efficient and effective Cellular Pathology service to two general hospitals (Southend University and Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals) and local GP community.

Ideally, the successful candidate should be driven, passionate with good interpersonal skills who wants to develop their career further within a supportive environment. We place great emphasis on training and support our staff through career development programmes. This is an exciting time for us as we have transitioned into our state of the art laboratories that delivers 900 different tests across a multitude of disciplines.

To be considered for this opportunity you must have:

  • HCPC registration, have at least 2 years post registration experience and have a Specialist portfolio or equivalent in Histopathology. We will consider applications from people nearing the completion of specialist portfolio.
  • Have non-gynae experience
  • Able to work across 3 different sites in a 24-7 work environment.
  • Able to work with a high degree of accuracy, numeracy, interpretive skills and good problem-solving skills.
  • Able to demonstrate a good knowledge and experience of industry standard laboratory information management systems and computer applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Statistical Packages.

Pathology First is a joint venture between Southend University Hospital, Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals and Integrated Pathology Partnerships (“iPP”). If your application is successful you will be directly employed by Integrated Pathology Partnerships (iPP) on behalf of the joint venture.
