You must have 4 GCSE passes or equivalent, be able to work with numbers, have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate that you are honest reliable and trustworthy.

This is a unique opportunity to make a huge difference to people at a very important time in their lives. The post involves caring for sick patients on our acute wards, which will include cleaning, bed making, dealing with bed pans and bodily fluids as well as providing personal care and assistance with eating and drinking. You must be able to assist patients with toileting, and those who have been incontinent, with kindness, sensitivity and without hesitation.

You’ll need to be resilient to care for and protect vulnerable acutely ill patients; 75% of them are over 80 years old and 25% suffer with dementia. You must be able to provide compassionate support to terminally ill patients and their relatives.

We are looking to employ Health Care Assistants working on the Acute Surgical wards across the Trust including the possibility of being employed at St Peter’s Hospital, in Chertsey, Surrey and at Ashford Hospital in Middlesex.

PLEASE NOTE THIS POST INVOLVES WORKING SHIFTS OVER A 24 HOUR/7 DAY PER WEEK ROTATION (EARLYS, LATES & NIGHTS). TO PROVIDE CONTINUITY OF CARE TO OUR PATIENTS WE EXPECT APPLICANTS TO BE ABLE TO WORK A MINIMUM OF THREE 7.5 HOUR SHIFTS PER WEEK.
