Mental Health Community Services Recruitment Day

Job Reference: 152-S162.19

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust
Dorset HealthCare
Band 5 to Band 7

Want to be part of the new NHS? Health and Care organisations in Dorset are at the forefront of transforming services to provide excellent, patient-centred care.

Dorset HealthCare recently achieved an Outstanding CQC status and is a dynamic forward-thinking Trust operating throughout Dorset.

Dorset HealthCare plays a pivotal role in the strong partnership of public sector organisations across Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole. Our community and mental health trust has a caring and committed workforce of around 5,500 staff, serving a population of over 700,000 people.

We are looking for proactive, positive, respectful, supportive, reliable and trustworthy people to join us at Dorset HealthCare – we’re the biggest provider of healthcare in Dorset and offer exciting opportunities for people with a range of skills. We want to be better every day – do you?

‘This is an exciting time for us as we continue improving and adapting. I have seen some great innovation, fantastic teamwork and a real willingness to look at how we can do things differently’ – Eugine Yafele, Chief Executive (May 2019)

Calling all registered, return to practice or soon to be registered Mental Health Practitioners – come and see the fantastic opportunities available to you within our Trusts mental health sector! We are delighted to announce that we are holding a recruitment open day:

Event Date: Friday 28th February 2020

Event Time: 10am – 4pm

Location: The Village Hotel, Bournemouth, BH7 7DZ

Many of our services are changing not only to meet the needs of our service users but in response to the NHS Long Term Plan. An example of this exciting work is our Children and Adolescent MH Services (CAMHS), who are currently developing an early assessment and brief intervention team in the community. We are also designing a brand new 8 bedded CAMHS PICU to complement our existing QNIC accredited inpatient unit and CQC rated ‘Outstanding’ (Pebble Lodge).

Our Psychiatric liaison service, has received additional funding to expand our teams within local acute hospitals, with the aim to offer a seamless all age service.

Steps 2 Wellbeing is an established and nationally well regarded service, performing well in the context of the national IAPT programme. We are looking for High Intensity CBT Therapists to join our Urban or Rural Steps 2 Wellbeing Teams in Dorset.

In addition, our Eating disorders service is all age, removing the need to transition at 18 and offers community, day and inpatient treatment options to local people.

The above is just a small snapshot of the work in progress – interested to know more?

We are looking for individuals who are keen to deliver care centred on the patient and their families whilst using their career experience to help shape services now and in the future.

If this is you, come and join us. On the day you will have the opportunity to:

  • meet some of the Team at Dorset HealthCare
  • gain information about the Community Mental Health teams (which includes but is not limited to Psychiatric Liaison, Children and Adolescent Services (CAMHS) and Increased Access to Psychological Therapies) and services in Dorset HealthCare
  • participate in engagement events
  • discuss current and potential vacancies with the relevant service manager or team leader
  • find out how we as a trust will support you to develop your career
  • you will have the opportunity to walk away with your dream job on the day!

This is a fantastic chance to explore opportunities with our dedicated and committed teams.

By submitting an application form you will be registering your attendance at this event.

Refreshments will be provided for candidates who are attending the full day.
