Funded by NHS England, The Office for Life Sciences and NHS Improvement, the West of England Academic Health Science Network exists to accelerate the spread of innovative, evidence-based practice to improve health and care in the West of England. We work with all six acute Trusts, five Clinical Commissioning Groups, five community providers, two mental health Trusts and three universities in the West of England. We also work closely with local businesses, small and medium enterprises, Local Enterprise Partnerships and a range of other academic partners to facilitate the adoption and spread of innovation into health and social care.

We are committed to improving outcomes for patients through improving access to research, applying evidence and ensuring consistency of clinical practice. We run projects working at scale to spread evidence-based quality improvements across the region.

Our highly collaborative network accelerates the scale and pace of delivering consistent good practice across our communities. This work is underpinned by high levels of collaboration with industry to ensure that we are innovative, enhance patient outcomes and drive up wealth in our local economy.

We host the Patient Safety Collaborative for the West of England and manage a wide improvement agenda working across all health care sectors. Our aim is to reduce incidents of harm and improve quality. We are committed to supporting and building the quality improvement capability and capacity of our local organisations.


Personal Assistant to the Director of Innovation and Growth ,Deputy Director of Innovation and Growth and Deputy Director of Service and System Transformation

The West of England Academic Health Science Network is a vibrant and diverse network of partners (providers of NHS care working with universities, industry, NHS commissioners and a wide range of other organisations) working to put innovation at the heart of healthcare, to improve patient outcomes and contribute to wealth creation.

Based in South Plaza, Marlborough Street, Bristol, the West of England Academic Health Science Network is looking to appoint a Personal Assistant to support the Directors and to provide additional support to Innovation and Growth and Service and System Transformation as a whole.

This is a busy and varied role and you’ll ensure the smooth running of the office along with PA duties such as complex diary management, taking minutes, and acting as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. You’ll have previous experience as a PA with excellent organisational skills, high level of competency and proficiency in using office systems and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

A strong commitment to personal and professional development and teamwork are all essential for this post. The postholder will be encouraged and supported thorough appropriate further study if required. The post will initially be offered on a permanent contract.
