Triage Nurse Advisor

We are looking for an Triage Nurse Advisor to join our NWCATS team in Greater Manchester! This role will be based at our Patient Referral Centre in Rochdale and covers 37.5 hours a week across Monday to Friday.

Overall summary of the position:

Undertake specialist triage for patients who require assessment of MSK related conditions and act independently to identify those that will require diagnosis.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Undertake and assist with telephone assessments and queries from patients, providing information on investigations and tests that may be required before consultation
  • Ensure the prompt triage of the clinical referral supporting the clinical and administrative team to achieve timely targets and KPIs
  • Provide a rapid specialist and holistic assessment by undertaking a comprehensive check of GP referrals and Self-Referrals and the subsequent initiation of the most appropriate services and treatments within agreed protocols and pathways
  • Use a specialist knowledge of MSK conditions, interventions and skills to determine any predictive investigations which may be required prior to the clinical appointment

You should apply if you have:

  • NMC professional registration
  • Specialist knowledge in the management of MSK, ENT or gastroenterology conditions
  • Experience of triaging referrals
  • Proven ability managing a complex case load
  • Sound assessment and diagnostic skills
