Currently The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (RBCH) includes Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Christchurch Hospital and a Sterile Services Department at Alderney Hospital.

It’s a very exciting time here in Dorset with a recent review kick-starting major improvement to the way healthcare is provided. Among which is the proposed merge with fellow acute hospital Poole Hospital. It is anticipated that the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will merge in 2020 to form East Dorset Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It is a condition of employment that all staff being recruited in the period before merger will work across all sites pre and post-merger


The Transport team are looking to recruit an organised and efficient manager who will be able to:

  • manage the provision of transport and travel facilities for staff and public to ensure the parking and inter-site travel arrangements are in place as Poole and Bournemouth Hospital work towards merger.

  • ensure patient parking is sustained and managed during the proposed change at Poole and Bournemouth Hospitals Work with HR and other colleagues to ensure workforce views are considered and that any car parking management initiatives are both fair and reasonable.
  • promote sustainable travel and transport act as ambassador for sustainable travel and produce and maintain a high quality ‘’ Sustainable Transport Plan’’ that is a live document able to meet the requirements of the trust and the planning authorities in support of any planning applications.
  • the successful candidate will need to be available to work across Bournemouth and Poole Hospitals plus link with county wide colleagues to develop a Dorset Wide Travel Network
