An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and motivated individual to take up the post of Service Manager for Breast and General Surgery Services at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

 

The successful candidate will have extensive operational, staff and financial management experience gained in an NHS setting and will need to draw upon previous experience of service planning and delivery of key performance targets.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to work under considerable pressure at times, with a desire for quality and innovation. You’ll work closely alongside the respective Clinical Lead and Surgical Matron to lead a team of dedicated multi-professionals within the Breast and General Surgery sub-division (inpatient and outpatient services) based at Leighton Hospital, Crewe. General Surgery includes Colorectal, General Surgery and Upper GI). There is an out-reach model for Vascular outpatient services provided on-site by visiting surgeons from the University Hospitals of North Midlands, which the post-holder will be expected to manage.

 

You will be educated to first degree level or have equivalent level of experience in leading a service and you will be able to demonstrate the acquisition of business management knowledge. You will have the ability to develop and lead specific projects and manage any associated change processes. i.e. Colorectal straight to test pathway for suspected cancer referrals.
