The Wirral is easily accessible to major airports and has excellent transport links including motorway, train, bus or ferry and within easy reach to the major cities of Liverpool, Chester and Manchester as well as neighbouring North Wales.

The Division of Surgery at this busy Acute Hospital Trust is looking for an exceptional individual to join its Divisional Management Team. This is a challenging and rewarding role, requiring someone with experience of leading change and service development through clear direction as well as effective teamwork across professional and organisational boundaries.

An energetic, driven leader with outstanding strategic and operational skills the successful candidate will also have a proven track record of delivery in operational management, specifically in perioperative medicine in a complex health and social care setting.

You will have a strong track record of balancing strategic and operational issues and improving patient outcomes across a wide range of performance indicators. Additionally, you will work closely with Clinical Service Leads to develop the strategic direction of the service and to help realise our vision to provide excellent patient care while managing effective day to day operations.

Effective clinical engagement will be critical to your success to ensure the Trust places clinical teams at the heart of decision making with quality and patient safety as our guiding principles.

You will have a good understanding of the challenges facing the NHS and accordingly produce robust business plans using strong financial acumen. Working with these challenges, you will lead a dynamic team that pushes boundaries to improve health and social care.

Critical to your success will be your tenacity and imagination combined with empathy and compassion for this demanding role. You will have evidence of delivering high standards of performance, including clinical governance, to achieve national and local targets. Your track record of managing complex budgets and delivering targets will speak for itself, as will your ability to manage large scale change in a multi-faceted environment.
