QE Facilities (QEF) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust (GHNT), based in the North East of England.

We provide a range of non- clinical services to GHNT and other NHS organisations. Our services include: estates, facilities services, procurement, medical engineering and devices, endoscopy decontamination and sterile services, transport, out-patient pharmacy, and prevention & management of violence & aggression training (PMVA). In addition we provide consultancy services, advising clients on all aspects from establishing a subsidiary company within an NHS body to the delivery of VAT compliance services and advice.

Job Title: Associate / VAT Consultant

Salary: Grade C. £25,500 - £30,000 (negotiable, depending on experience)

Summary of the Role:

 

To support the team in scheduling reviews and client meetings, obtain data from clients and prepare the data for the team ahead of the on-site reviews. Once the reviews are complete, undertake work to resolve any queries by contacting suppliers, recording their responses and discussing with the team. Prepare VAT reports from the templates provided.

 

Assist the team with its business development objectives, identify targets, undertake research, make relevant calls or send emails to perspective clients and maintain schedules detailing the outcomes.

 

Deliver VAT Compliance Services and provide support to the senior team members in the provision of VAT Advisory Services to NHS bodies nationally. VAT compliance services include the review of client data to determine whether VAT errors have been made under the Contracted-out Services refund scheme in relation to expenditure and under normal VAT legislation (notwithstanding any specific NHS guidelines) relating to income.

 

Provide support to senior team members in the delivery of VAT advisory services to clients. This will require consideration of the VAT legislation, provision of an analysis, development of a conclusion and then reporting such to the senior team member for discussion including the source of evidence of the legislation and any reference material. The senior team member will be responsible for determining the correct answer and the provision of such to the client.

 

To support the senior team members in relation to technical helpline responses for client queries.

To help develop client relationships and acquire an understanding of the client’s business.
