The Huntercombe Group are one of the leading specialist healthcare providers, with hospitals and centres throughout England and Scotland, delivering wide-ranging high-quality services. Working with the Huntercombe Group is rewarding and varied, and through our Conversation into Action programme we actively engage our teams and patients to get involved driving organisational change for the better.

Blackheath Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre is located in South East London, close to the A2 and with good public transport access. We have two Units - the Heathside Neurodisability Unit which provides for clients with complex neurodisability and the Thames Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit which focuses on clients with primary cognitive disorder and challenging behaviour.

Many of our patients arrive with complex and challenging needs. Huntercombe teams make a world of difference to peoples’ lives by encouraging patients to make individual choices about all aspects of life at the Unit and to be as independent as possible. We can offer you a rewarding career where you will be valued as a key member of our team, supporting our patients on their rehabilitation journey to achieve their goals and ambitions.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with HCPC registration and at least 3 years’ experience working with adults with acquired neurological disorders in a rehabilitation setting. You must have specialist knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders related to acquired brain injury and have a drive to work in the heart of a multidisciplinary team. You will be able to deliver goal orientated therapy programmes, specialist outreach assessments and take on a Named Therapist role for some of your patients. The role also includes providing supervision to junior members of the team and taking students.

As part of a large specialist multidisciplinary team, we offer the perfect opportunity for joint working and goal setting, and in-service training across disciplines. As an experienced clinician, you will work in collaboration with the other Band 7s (OT, Physio) to support the AHP Leads in delivering a high-quality service. You will have scope to broaden your knowledge base and develop your leadership skills in service development, training, audit, research and project work.

In addition to a competitive salary and benefits, you will join a passionate, dynamic and supportive team, and be guided in your career and personal growth. At Blackheath, we have a strong commitment to continuing professional development, and we will offer regular clinical supervision, professional development and managerial support from the Lead Speech and Language Therapist with plenty of opportunity to build your CPD portfolio.

This exciting senior role is pivotal to our dynamic and friendly team and will place you at the heart of a multidisciplinary team delivering the best care and rehabilitation in this unique and rewarding client group.

Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
