Are you a pharmacy technician with experience with IT systems and looking to lead our pharmacy IT systems.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the pharmacy informatics team at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust for the post of Lead Technician- IT Pharmacy Systems. Our Pharmacy department employs over 120 staff delivering high quality clinical pharmacy and medicines optimisation services. This is an exciting time to join our team as we develop services in preparation for our move to Midland Metropolitan Hospital in 2022.

The post holder will be responsible for the build, maintenance and development of key Pharmacy IT systems including JAC, Pharmacy Tracking System, Abloy and Pyxis.

Following significant investment, our pharmacy department has led the innovations in automated storage (Pyxis) across our most acute areas of work, and improved drug security, utilising Abloy keys, across the rest of the organisation. We have recently successfully implemented our EPMA system across all of our hospital sites.

The role offers a challenging environment, with consistent requirement for management of multiple priorities. The ability to work autonomously, with a level of accountability is essential and familiarity of working within multi-disciplinary teams and with IT systems would be advantageous.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; you must be able to manage your own workload, direct & supervise others and work as part of a team.

We are looking for a highly motivated, adaptable pharmacy technician to join our informatics pharmacy team.
