Senior Clinical Pharmacy Technician - Band 5

Salary - £24,214 - £30,112 - 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Pharmacy Technician to join our dedicated and friendly team.

 

We are leading experts in cancer care, research and education. Rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, we have been pioneering cancer research breakthroughs for over 100 years and expanding access to clinical trials. This is a unique opportunity to work with us and contribute to the challenging and rewarding specialty of oncology pharmacy.

 

The Oak Road Research and Treatment Centre opened in 2010 and houses pharmacy facilities including dispensary and aseptic suite, supporting a massive growth in clinical trials and consolidating the chemotherapy provision within the Trust. The pharmacy department is working in partnership with The Christie Pharmacy Company LTD (wholly owned subsidiary company) to provide dispensing and procurement services for the Trust.

 

We have recently introduced a new chemotherapy electronic prescribing, iQemo, throughout the Trust. We are developing links with the University of Manchester with work on collaborative projects.

 

We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic pharmacy technician to join our Trust pharmacy team. The post includes the provision of clinical ward based services, satellite pharmacy services within the chemotherapy treatment centre, which includes the coordination of patient’s medication by the third party provider. Training and support will be provided to introduce you to the excellent pharmacy service offered to both patients and the Trust. The post holder will be educated to NVQ level 3 in pharmacy services and BTEC in pharmaceutical sciences. Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council is essential.
