Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated registered nurse with post registration experience within Paediatrics or Health Visiting to embrace the challenges of this role.

You would need to be an experienced pediatric nurse with significant post registration experience, and be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the field of Safeguarding Children.

You will take the professional lead and undertake the role of the Named Nurse for Child Protection for the Trust in accordance with Department of Health guidance, "Working Together to Safeguard Children", Laming Inquiry and the National Service Framework for children and relevant national recommendations/guidelines. This will be achieved by working in collaboration with the Trust’s Named Doctors for Child Protection, the area Designated Nurse and Designated Doctor, and local Named Nurse network in promoting high standards of professional practice within the Trust in safeguarding children.

A teaching qualification and experience of teaching is essential and you should be able to work with a range of professionals as partnership and collaborative working will be an important part of your role.

If you can work as an autonomous practitioner, have excellent communication skills and have a keen desire to improve the outcomes for vulnerable children and their families then this may be the post for you.
