The Department of Clinical Chemistry comprises a team of 60 staff who are committed to delivering an efficient, high quality diagnostic service. It is a busy, friendly department.

Under the leadership of the Department Manager this individual will maintain and contribute to the delivery of a Quality Management System that meets the needs of patients and service users together with ensuring accreditation (UKAS) is adhered to. They will do this by undertaking effective management of audit processes and audit co-coordination, be responsible for the day-to-day management of the local Assets Register, and provide business support for local procurement processes.

Applicants must have a laboratory background with relevant experience of external regulatory accreditation (for example UKAS or HTA).

Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is currently one of five Trusts involved in the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw (SYB) Pathology Transformation Programme. The aim is to design a Pathology Service that provides all SYB patients and clinicians with equitable access to high-quality, innovative laboratory medicine solutions that will ensure the best clinical outcomes for patients. The service will also be efficient and sustainable, encourage research and development in collaboration with Academia and Industry to improve health and innovation in the region and provide rewarding jobs and career opportunities for all staff.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
