This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operational manager to work with our supportive and dynamic team working across the acute and community setting in urgent care. The role is part of a busy and forward thinking directorate that includes services for urgent care, medicine, paediatrics and community services. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Trust’s emergency department, acute admissions unit, medical assessment unit, GP out of hours/primary care centre, critical care and our medical nurse practitioner team.

We are looking for a strong senior leader who will champion excellent patient care, working closely with our clinicians and multidisciplinary teams on service innovation, improvement and development.

You will have a proven track record in effective operational management and strategic thinking, as well as successful delivery of financial, workforce and performance objectives. You will be highly collaborative and systematic in your approach, with excellent communication skills to build effective internal and external partnerships.

The district served by the Trust covers an area of approximately 255 square miles. It includes the towns of Macclesfield, Congleton, Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Knutsford, Poynton, Handforth and Holmes Chapel as well as many rural areas. Services are provided in a variety of settings that include three hospitals, some community clinics and patients’ homes. The population served by the Trust is approximately 500,000. There is a strong emphasis on integrated care and partnership working as part of the Cheshire East Place initiative to provide a seamless, high quality service working closely with primary care providers, social services and Mid Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust. In addition there are established links for medical specialty services with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.

Macclesfield is a vibrant market town adjacent to the Peak District with the benefit of good schools and housing with easy access to Manchester and strong transport links. The Trust aims to design and implement services, policies and measures that meet the diverse needs of our service, population and workforce, ensuring that none are placed at a disadvantage over others.
