Who we are

At HRCH, we only want to provide the type of outstanding care that we would recommend to our family and friends.

We provide community healthcare and urgent treatment services for over 515,000 people living across the London boroughs of Hounslow and Richmond-Upon-Thames.

In the latest NHS Staff Survey results for community trusts, we had the highest percentage of staff in the country who felt their role made a difference to patients. We also had top scores for satisfaction with the quality of care staff can deliver.

In 2018 we were named ‘Best Place to Work for Employee Satisfaction’ by the Nursing Times and won the HSJ Workforce Award.

Our job is all about people and we believe that staff who feel valued and supported deliver better outcomes for our patients, so we invest in our people and their ideas.

With some of the best career development, staff wellbeing and flexible working opportunities around, you will be well looked after so that you can make a positive difference to the lives of people in our community.

We currently have a new vacancy for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our innovative and well supported team. The post is permanent and both part time and full time positions will be considered. This post provides the candidate with an opportunity to develop their skills in both working in primary and secondary mainstream schools as well as in an ASD unit and to deliver ADOS assessment clinics alongside the community paediatrician and occupational therapist. Training will be provided if the candidate is not ADOS trained.

The mainstream team delivers a consultative service working closely with schools to develop their skills and knowledge and to jointly identify targets and strategies that can be embedded into the curriculum. The service provides on-going bespoke training both at whole school, small group and individual level designed to meet the needs of individual schools. The role also includes taking on responsibilities outside of direct caseload work to support the service to develop initiatives, as well as the opportunity to develop a clinical specialism in line with the successful candidate's interests and our service needs. Candidates with experience and/or a specific interest in ASD are desirable. Richmond Speech and Language Therapy Service is a well-established, integrated and supportive team which is jointly commissioned by Health and Education. Offering support and guidance at all levels within the department is central to our team’s ethos.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate an ability to work flexibly, and use their initiative to deliver a responsive and quality service.

The department offers a long established and robust and responsive supervision structure which is built around the needs of the individual therapist. As well as offering individual regular supervision, we also provide a rolling programme of internal training and an outreach service.
