You will work as a senior CAMHS practitioner in one of our 3 CAMHS wedges across Leeds. We have both full time and part time posts available. Community CAMHS is a multi-disciplinary service which offers assessment and treatment to young people and families with a range of mental health difficulties. You will work as part of a wider multi-Disciplinary team, offering an assessment clinic, inputting and contributing into clinical pathways and offering therapeutic interventions within this.

If you have a modality qualification for example CBT, IPT, Family Therapy, we will ensure that a significant percentage of your working week is protected to enable you to offer this therapeutically and maintain your professional accreditation,


You will be able to demonstrate:
-significant experience of working in the mental health field with children, young people and their families
- high level of knowledge
- ability to assess children and young people with complex mental health needs

If you have a Non-Medical Prescriber qualification or are willing to undertake further training, supported by the service, this would be advantageous but no essential.

If you experience in the assessment of Neurological Disorders (ASC, ADHD) or are willing to undertake further training supported by the service, this would be advantageous but not essential.


This post is open to all staff with a professional qualification and we would welcome applications from Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social workers and other professions.

At Band 7, you'll work closely alongside other mental health practitioners to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate client care and interventions at a specialist level. You will be responsible for holding a clinical caseload aiming to reduce the impact of mental health and/or neuro-developmental difficulties in young people and assist in their CAMHS journey. There will be opportunities to take a lead role in identified areas within the service, including offering supervision to other members of the team.

Experience of multi-agency and team working, as well as the ability to work autonomously are essential for this role.
