Radiography department assistant

We are looking for self-motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our friendly team of radiography department assistants.


At UHS we have a large friendly team of radiographers, RDAs and RAPs with wide range of experience working across the following departments:

Main X-ray

This area provides general, fluoroscopy and mobile radiography for adult in-patients and out-patients. There are 5 DR X-ray rooms, 2 state of the art digital fluoroscopy rooms, and a fleet of DR mobiles. There is also a Xograph DR Dental Imaging room.

Emergency X-ray.

This area provides adult and paediatric trauma radiography for the Emergency Department and Major Trauma Centre plus emergency and general theatre imaging.

There are 3 DR x-ray rooms, DR mobiles and a fleet of up to date image intensifiers undertaking a wide variety of complex imaging procedures.

Royal South Hants X-ray

This satellite unit, near the city centre, provides imaging for adult outpatient clinics and GP referrals and has 4 DR x-ray rooms.


Assist Radiographers and Radiologists during imaging procedures and to provide care for patients undergoing imaging procedures.


You will need to have suitable qualifications and experience working within a team and with people of all abilities, ages and cultures. It would be highly desirable for you to have some previous healthcare experience.
