Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) and North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust (NCUH) have merged to form North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC). Joining forces is an historic step in the journey to truly join up health and care services for a happier, healthier population in Cumbria. As a result of the two organisations working closely together with our partners we are already being regarded nationally as a leading edge integrated care system.

The Trust encourages applications from all backgrounds, communities and industries and is committed to having a workforce that is made up of diverse skills, experiences and abilities.

This is an exciting opportunity for a band 6 physiotherapist to work in a friendly and supportive musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy outpatient team in Carlisle. We are an innovative and enthusiastic team who strive to continually improve the quality of care that we provide for our patients as well as ensuring a positive patient experience within the service.

There are many opportunities for continuous service improvement within the core MSK physiotherapy service. This is aligned with the ongoing organisational development following the recent formation of North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a permanent and static MSK band 6 physiotherapy post which would be suitable for a physiotherapist who is passionate about providing a high standard of care. The successful applicant will demonstrate a sound knowledge of evidence based practice and values that are complementary to the delivery of personalised care for the population of Carlisle.

We are currently based in the Sands Centre, Carlisle City Council leisure facility providing a high quality service predominantly for post-operative patients. We are in the process of integrating with the Carlisle Community based MSK out-patient physiotherapy service and in the future this will offer the clinical team the opportunity to manage a more varied MSK clinical caseload.

The post holder will be required to work autonomously, managing an independent caseload. They will undertake the assessment, diagnosis, development and implementation of specialist treatment goals and treatment plans for patients with increasing clinical complexity.

There is an expectation of the successful post holder to be able to work flexibly and support the orthopaedic weekend on-call rota on a five weekly rota basis. Time associated with weekend working will be taken back during the normal working week for weekend work done with associated weekend enhancements payable.

The post holder will be expected to provide education, supervision and training to physiotherapy colleagues, students and other healthcare professionals.

We value CPD highly, and have an established in-service training program; we also have good support systems for Management and Clinical supervision and peer review.
